Our palm-based products are made from responsibly-sourced palm oil. The oil palm tree has the highest yield and productivity, as compared to the other commercial vegetable oil crops. In fact, the income earned from cultivating oil palms plays a meaningful role in improving the livelihoods of the smallholder farmers we work with. Our R&D, efficiency, and sustainability best practices serve as the backbone to our end-to-end production, as we work our way up from the seed to the shelf.
PT SMART Tbk’s (SMART’s) palm oil plantations cover approximately 137,000 hectares (including smallholder farmers). Our primary activities range from cultivating and harvesting oil palm trees, extracting fresh fruit bunches (FFBs) into crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK), to processing it into industrial and consumer products such as cooking oil, margarine, shortening, biodiesel, and oleochemicals, as well as merchandising the palm products throughout the world

Palm oil is a natural edible vegetable oil made from the fruit of the oil palm tree. It boasts numerous health benefits:

It is rich in vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in our bodies, boosting our immune system.

Crude palm oil is the richest natural source of carotene that contributes to its deep red colour, more than what we find in carrots. Carotene helps prevent Vitamin A deficiency and related skin and eye diseases.
